Defensive Driving Course by Toyo Tyre

Thursday, October 8, 2015

Toyo Tyre Sales and Marketing Malaysia held a one-day “Toyo Tires Defensive Driving Course” at MAEPS, Serdang for 56 officers from JPJ, JKJR, Royal Malaysian Customs and Immigration Department of Malaysia.

The aim of the program was to promote and foster safe driving techniques and offer participants the opportunity to practise their driving skills to ultimately gain greater confidence in their driving ability and experience.
The one-day program was specifically designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills on keeping their vehicles in safe running condition, good tyre maintenance and safe driving habits. Participants were given a classroom session covering theory, and a hands-on driving session that included slalom, braking, skid control and lane changing…skills that are crucial for the execution of their duties or even everyday driving.
Vehicles used in the event were Proton Preve, Proton Waja and Nissan Almera which were fitted with Toyo Nano Energy 3, and a Toyota Fortuner fitted with Toyo Open Country U/T – all of which performed exceptionally.
“In view of the event’s success, we plan to organise more driver training programs regularly to promote road safety consciousness amongst government agency enforcement officers and the general public as part of  Toyo Tires’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program“ said Mr Tan Song Chye, President/Managing Director of Toyo Tyre Sales and  Marketing Malaysia.
In the past, Toyo Tyre Malaysia had conducted tyre safety checks, focusing on tyre inflation and tyre tread depth at R&R areas in Rawang and Seremban during the festive season. This was to educate motorists on the need to have well maintained tyres with correct tyre pressures for a safe and trouble- free journey.
