Robby Gordon remains in the Dakar. Earlier reports of his withdrawal were premature. Its almost as good as winning a stage to know he's still in there.

After running in 5th place through 396km of today's 9th stage of the Dakar, Robby Gordon has come to a halt with problems just 26km shy of the finish.
Baldwin 28th after difficult final sector
After outperforming his 63rd position start and running at 1th/12th for most of the race, problems have slowed BJ Baldwin at the end of the special and he finishes 28th.

They may be wearing shorts and shades but with cars to attend to, media interviews and strategies to plan, the teams haven't broken out the beach towels just yet.
Subdued end to Week one of 2014 Dakar

After arriving at the bivouac having spent nearly nine hours behind the wheel at race pace and a further five hours on the 'commute' to work, Baldwin was hit with a two hour penalty for late arrival.
Improved results for Team Toyo Tires in stage 2 of 2014 Dakar
At the time of writing, BJ Baldwin hasn't arrived at the Bivouac. After starting behind all the top ranked drivers and having to fight through the field, Chicherit has brought his Jefferies buggy home 23rd with Gordon's HST in 28th.
